Wizz Air airline baggage rules

As one of Europe's largest low-cost airlines, Wizz Air offers passengers a variety of baggage options tailored to different needs. Understanding the baggage conditions is extremely important, as it helps to avoid additional fees and inconveniences before the trip.

Carry-on baggage:

Small cabin bag

This is one free piece of hand luggage with maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 20 cm and maximum weight of 10 kg. This hand luggage must fit under the seat in front of you. Hand luggage can be: a laptop bag, a handbag, or a small backpack. Wizz Air's hand luggage rules state that hand luggage can have wheels, but the wheels cannot increase the size of the luggage by more than 5 centimeters.

Cabin baggage

Wizz Air offers the WIZZ PRIORITY service for passengers who wish to take more baggage into the cabin. This service allows you to take one additional travel bag into the cabin, which may be larger than the first, with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm and a maximum weight of 10 kg. This bag will be placed in the overhead compartment, so it is very important that it fits there. The additional bag may also have wheels, but the wheels must not increase the size of the bag by more than 5 centimeters.

Checked baggage:

Wizz Air allows each passenger to carry up to 6 pieces of checked baggage. The maximum dimensions of checked baggage are 149 x 119 x 171 cm (excluding wheels, which may protrude up to 5 cm), and the maximum weight is 10 kg, 20 kg, or 32 kg. You can purchase one 10 kg piece of baggage, six 20 kg pieces of baggage, or six 32 kg pieces of baggage online. Other combinations of checked baggage cannot be purchased online.

Checked baggage must be booked in advance, not at the airport. This helps to reduce costs, as airport fees can be significantly higher.

Wizzair is one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe

The company is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, and operates flights to more than 150 destinations in 44 countries. Wizz Air stands out for its low prices and convenience, making it a popular choice for both business and leisure travelers.

History and expansion

Wizz Air was founded with the aim of offering affordable, high-quality air transport, and quickly expanded its route network. From the outset, the company focused on Eastern and Central Europe, but over time expanded its operations to Western Europe. Wizz Air primarily targeted travelers looking for economical solutions, and this strategy proved successful.

Services and baggage policy

Wizz Air offers a range of services, including the option to book checked and cabin baggage, in-flight meals, and additional services such as priority boarding. Passengers can choose between different ticket types depending on their needs, such as Wizz Go or Wizz Plus, which offer additional privileges.

Wizz Air's baggage policy covers personal baggage, cabin baggage, and checked baggage. Each passenger can take a personal bag measuring 40 x 30 x 20 cm, and cabin baggage (if selected) can be up to 55 x 40 x 23 cm and weigh up to 10 kg. Checked baggage can be 20 kg or 32 kg, but it must be booked in advance.

Customer experience

Wizz Air strives to ensure that customers receive the best experience at an affordable price. The company continuously invests in its services and infrastructure to improve the passenger experience. While low-cost tickets are a big advantage, some passengers complain about additional fees for services, so it is recommended to read the terms and conditions carefully before flying.

Sustainability and social responsibility

Wizz Air also invests in sustainability and environmental protection. The company aims to reduce its carbon footprint by investing in new, more efficient aircraft. Wizz Air uses state-of-the-art Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are known for their fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

In addition, Wizz Air carries out various social responsibility initiatives. The company supports local communities and implements programs to help environmental projects. This is part of their strategy to become a more responsible company and contribute to positive change in the world.

Competition

Wizz Air operates in a highly competitive market with many other low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet. Each of these companies has its strengths and weaknesses, but Wizz Air stands out for its quality of service and variety of routes. This competition means that passengers can enjoy a wider choice and better prices.

Wizz Air is one of the most prominent low-cost airlines in Europe, with an extensive route network, affordable prices, and a focus on improving customer service. Although low-cost tickets may have additional fees, the company constantly strives to ensure the best passenger experience. Sustainability initiatives and social responsibility are additional aspects that encourage Wizz Air to become a more responsible company in today's world.
